TRAINING COURSE DETAILS
Courses run in Devon are based on four handlers, they
are residential, you are invited to stay in our home with
a nominal household contribution of £40.00 per person
per night, this includes food, but not alcohol, which you
should provide. If you wish to stay somewhere else this is
not a problem.
Daily training fee is £200 this is based on a daily
rate, so if there are two people, each person would pay £100
per day, if there were four it would be £50 per day
per person.
Our courses are designed so that you succeed in your training,
not fail, and that you build your relationship with your dog
in a positive approach. Steve always says that he is ‘teaching
you to train your dog’™.
On a weekend course you can expect on the first day to have
an informal evaluation of all dogs, finding out how you operate
with your dog, what your problem areas are, what your aspirations
with your dog are, then Steve will go from there and work
from your/your dogs level to start you on his positive techniques
of training.
Our facilities:
We are fortunate to have access to moor land, fields and woodlands
(400 acre shoot). Ponds and some running water. We have a
rabbit pen and a retrieving/jumping lane. We can work with
sheep at some times of the year (There is an extra cost for
this).
We hope to be able to help you in one way or another in
your training.
WEEKEND TRAINING COURSES
Following feedback
from our very successful residential training courses it has
become apparent that attendees would appreciate the opportunity
to have additional training sessions in small groups during
the year to assist them to fine tune their skills. Therefore
we have created and are now able to offer weekend courses
for up to 4 dogs and their handlers. These courses are open
to anyone (and any breed of gundog) with an interest in learning
the art of handling a gundog in respect of either the shooting
or trialing fields. We can also arrange bespoke 'one to one'
training sessions to suit any individual requirements - please
contact us to discuss your needs.
WEEKEND TRAINING DATES AVAILABLE
All dates shown in Devon which
are not full could have the possibility of being booked by
a single group who would like Steve to travel to their own
venue and train. If you would be interested, or know of anyone
who would be, please ask for more details and costs.
LOCAL COURSE INFORMATION
All breeds welcome. We will be running group classes from Monday 26th March in a block of ten lessons. The classes will be during the week in the evenings, duration time of about 1 hour approx.
Cost will be £90 for the block of lessons.
So whether you are a novice handler but would like to find out how you can train your dog for the shooting field or a more experienced handler who wants to brush up their training why not come and join us.
