Kimberley Gundogs
Steve Kimberley has been professionally
training gundogs for over 20 years. Although he made his name
training HPR's (hunt, point, retrieve), he has a wealth of
experience and knowledge of all the gundog breeds. Steve strongly
believes that the principals for training are the same for
all breeds; steadiness is as important for a german shorthaired
pointer as it is for a springer spaniel.
Steve's philosophy is that he
really trains the handler how to train their dogs, rather
than training the dogs themselves. Steve served for many years
with the Royal Marines, so his training has a touch of military
discipline, but he is quick to inspire handlers with lots
of fresh ideas and techniques. Steve also judges numerous
working tests and field trials and he is a "B" panel
Kennel Club field trial judge.
Kimberley Gundogs is a family affair and Steve's
wife Coshy is a qualified cordon bleu chef and this is definitely
an added bonus when attending the training courses. Breakfast,
lunch and a three course evening meal are all prepared to
a high standard. Coshy looks after the day to day running
of Kimberley Gundogs. She is also a very keen gundog handler
and regularly picks up on numerous estates throughout the
South West.
